...First world problem: you go for a walk on the beach, and you arrive at the beach bar ... with no money.

...Problem solved in 10 minutes (plus drying time for the glue): make your own waterproof, mini money carrier!
Safe for splashes, kayaking, and even a short swim!

fits bills and coins :)
... and closes tightly

...it floats!

what you need: supplies

* old medicine container
E-6000 glue
Goo Gone
* 2 ft of nylon cord (I used the cord from a pair of my husband's old bathing shorts!)
* drill (or you can use a large screw)

how to make a waterproof beach money carrier // tutorial:

Use Goo Gone to remove the label and the writing on the cap.
(it takes a little of elbow grease for the cap, but it will come perfectly white)

I used a drill, but a large screw will do in just a little extra time.
Drill a hole in the middle of the cap.

The hole needs to be about the same diameter of one strand of nylon cord.
Burn the edges of the nylon cord to prevent unravelling

with the help of a toothpick, fold the cord in half, and snug both ends into the cap,.
(ends into the inside of the cap)
Make a knot
slip the knot close to the cap and apply a generous amount of
glue around the cord - then pull the cord so that the knot will be tight onto the cap
apply a nice amount of glue onto the outside of the cap, too
make another knot on the outside of the cap, too.

Let dry for few hours and you can bring your money to the beach!
